Released by Atari in 1978, Football was one of the very first arcade games to utilize a trackball as it’s main controls. It is also credited as the first accurate sports emulation in arcade games. In this classic game, the players are represented on the screen as X’s and O’s. Atari Football is one of the most physically exhausting games, since winning relies on spinning the 4 inch trackball as fast as you can. This vintage game comes in the original 2-player cabinet with all original artwork. We can fully restore the game for an additional $1000, or if you would like to replace just the control panel overlays, we can do so for $250.
Atari Football was one of the most physically challenging games that was ever manufactured. During Football Season in 1978, this two- player game of Xs and Os was as popular as Space Invaders. Credited as the first game to accurately emulate sports, 25¢ would allow 90 seconds of playtime, while adding quarters would allow longer play.
